[Woman's Suffrage] Victoria Woodhull, the First Woman for President: A Collection of Memorabilia....

Dublin Core

Title

[Woman's Suffrage] Victoria Woodhull, the First Woman for President: A Collection of Memorabilia....

Subject

Victoria Woodhull and Tennessee Claflin

Description

This rare lot brings together two cartes de visite, one of Woodhull and one of her sister, a copy of their newspaper, and a pamphlet of one of Woodhull's speeches. The CDVs are in excellent condition, with deep, rich toning. There is some fraying to the paper, but generally it holds up very well. It features a front-page ad (some would term it a ballot) for Woodhull. The 33-page speech was published in 1871. Despite some tearing along the spine, it is an extremely desirable item as it is virtually impossible to find a Woodhull speech, particularly one published by the firm of Woodhull and Claflin. Just a great lot! (Heritage Auctions)
